A marketing arm of SEWA, SEWA TFC (STFC) is a not for profit company working with hand embroidery artisans in Gujarat.
STFC serves as a bridge between the rural micro level enterprises and the global markets. It is a novel concept in poverty alleviation whereby the poor artisans are the owners of their own company. It is unique in its efforts of strategically targeting the markets, thereby influencing the local wages and increasing the bargaining power of the poor artisans.
The company markets lifestyle products with value addition through exquisite hand embroidery and surface ornamentation. We offer the best of traditional embroidery skills which is straight from our rich cultural heritage. Its a pure blend of unique skills and exclusive designs to cater to the contemporary world.
Product portfolio of STFC comprises of Apparels, Home furnishings and accessories. We have done apparels for European as well as American customers.
Design development of the products is in line with the current trends, fashion forecasts, consumer tastes and preferences employing the traditional skills of Artisans.
STFC has established a common facility centre for member artisans equipped with State of the Art machines and facilities to implement quality control at all stages and ensure an effective production, packaging, warehousing and distribution system.
It is a major step in making the artisans to market their products.

STFC has two retail stores- Banascraft (Ahmedabad) and Hansiba (New Delhi) and has been working with national and international buyers. Some of STFCs customers are Norm Thompson, CONSORZIO CTM ALTROMERCATO, Ten Thousand Villages, Oxfam, FAB INDIA, Shoppers Stop, Westside, Piramyds, Reliance retail, Arvind Mills, Rohit Bal, Shyamal & Bhumika.
