Detailed Product Description
An expander when added to a plastic ring will provide it with more initial tension and improve its sealing characteristics. Ring tension is most often obtained from the ring itself. However, in some instances - if the cross section is light, or the ring material is soft, or if the ring is segmental - a separate spring may be needed to supply radial force to the ring. The basic ring plus the expander is particularly suitable for low pressure and applications where expander-to-piston contact is to be avoided. The same ring concept can be furnished in two segments version or three segments version.
