Dill is the dried fruit of the herb anethum graveolens, which belongs to the parsley family. They are oval-shaped, soft and fluffy and has a pungent and aromatic flavour. Its seeds, dill seed are used as a spice, and its fresh leaves, dill, and its dried leaves, dill weed, are used as herbs. They have been used since ancient times.
