When u purchase the Fresh garlic u must know the following things :
A minimum of 25 mm for Low Yielding Varieties and between 40 mm and 90 mm for High Yielding Varieties.
· The Garlic must be dry, firm, clean and well developed.
· The shape of the bulb must be typical of the cultivar.
· The Garlic of a given variety must be of the same color.
· Garlic must be virtually free of loose outer skins.
· Leaves cut off may not be longer than 40 mm.
· Garlic's should not:
o show signs of any decay, seed stems or sprout;
o display any insect damage or insect infestation;
o have thick necks or double bulbs, on the understanding that double bulbs covered by the same out skin are permissible;
o No any kind of mechanical damage and other internal and external defect in quality including greening;
o No any roots found longer than 10 mm, and contain any foreign matter.
