ADVANCED MODIFY ROTARY KILN TECHNOLOGY OF IRONOREPELLETIZATION FOR DRI / SPONGE IRON
ANEW GENERATION OF SPONGE IRON / DRI STEEL PLANTS
RaghuvamshiTechnologies have Research & developed advanced modify Technology for DRI /Sponge Iron i.e. Iron Ore(powder) Pelletisation Technology. This concept is developed physically andpractically. India is the worlds largest producer of direct reduced iron (DRI also calledsponge iron) and is also the leader in coal based DRI production by means ofrotary kilns.
Rotary kilns suffer from a build up ofpartly reduced iron deposits on the inside of the rotating cylinder which requiresthe kiln to be periodically stopped for removal of this material. Such productionmaintenance can mean 50 to 60 days lost production.
Trials over the past two years has enabledRaghuvamsi Technologies, Indiato developed a modified rotary kiln technology for carbon based sponge ironproduction. The DRI pellets produced have been tested by Joyti SpectromAnalysis Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad and reportedto have properties similar to the pellets produced by Essar Steel from theirgas based DRI shaft furnaces.
Ore fines can be used as the startingmaterial and theseare in abundant supply in Indiafromsuch states as Karnataka, NMDC, Madhya Pradesh and Goafromwhere it is exported at low profit as demand for fines is lowdomestically, orit is even sent to dumps.
Thereis no need to coal lumps, lime stone &dolomite as inlet fuel for rotary kilnand also no need to separate ganguematerial from the kiln after reduction iscomplete.
Theplant can be sized to match requirements of thesteelmaker from 50 TPD to muchlarger plants.
