SRM 98

Quartzite based acidic ramming mass

 

Product Description

 

SRM 98 is a pre-blended acidic ramming mass made from selected quartzite grains such that the bulk density in conventional manual ramming, gives a density very near to the specific gravity of the base material. The bond is added to the quartzite grains in hot condition in an environment where access to moisture or air borne impurities is absent. .

Product Application

SRM 98 bags, each of 40Kg, are to be kept near the furnace to be rammed. Damaged bags are to be preheated to 20-30 C above ambient temperature (55-65C) before using them. SRM 98 bags are to be opened only when actual ramming is to start. Since SRM 98 is denser than most ramming masses of the same kind, approximately 5-7% more is needed to ram the same furnace. The dense packing enhances the abrasion resistance which significantly reduces the erosion resistance. Pneumatic ramming gives the best results though application increases by almost 10% compared to manual ramming.

Initial field trials have shown a 15-20% enhanced live with SRM 98, when compared to the best Indian product.

SRM 98 is normally packed in 50 Kg polylined double HDPE Bags. However this

can be customized depending on plant requirements.

 
Shelf Life

The shelf life of SRM98 is six months when stored under dry and covered conditions. Bags torn in transit or storage are to be preheated before use.
